Review of Attending SK Tech Summit 2023
SK Tech Summit 2023, an ICT conference that gathers SK Group’s technological capabilities, was held from November 16 to 17. This year, under the theme of “AI Everywhere for a Better Future”, a total of 33 companies including 17 subsidiaries under the conglomerate shared 115 presentations and 103 exhibitions, making it the largest event ever. RTC also participated in this event with one exhibition (Establishment of Realistic ACiM Macro Evaluation Methodology) and one booth (The Impact of Semiconductor Research on Social Value).
In this event, we were able to catch a glimpse of various projects in various fields under the same theme of “AI”. An AI personal assistant on mobile devices was introduced that it can summarize the contents of calls, manage schedules, recommend music and analyze sleep patterns. Besides, AI subtitle generator is also under developing to provide subtitles generation service for movies and drama in real time. With the rapid development of Generative AI such as ChatGPT, which gives answers in context, we can imagine that someday AI will be capable of emotional interactions, as seen in the movie ‘Her’. What is certain is that in the near future, we will experience “AI everywhere”.
RTC is working on building and promoting the “Open Research Platform (ORP)”. In SK Tech Summit 2023, we presented to the visitors about the necessity of ORP execution and the value that semiconductor ecosystems can gain through ORP. Although the idea of ‘openness’ in research maybe still unfamiliar due to the technology confidentiality, we were able to arouse the interest of many people towards ORP concept through this event. We are planning to promote the understanding of ORP within the semiconductor industry by consistently expanding our partnership to create an even more concrete research alliance. This is expected to provide opportunities for win-win cooperation within the ecosystem through active discussions with academia, start-ups and research institutes, and therefore lead to technological development and social contribution.
